August Waffles and Spaghetti Sex Dare
Never fear, this month’s Dare doesn’t include eating a plate of noodles topped with waffles in your bedroom! Start the Dare by turning on the Spotify Waffles and Spaghetti Sex Dare playlist we created for you to use as background music during the fun discussion you’re going to have. It has sexy songs and a couple of silly songs to add to the fun.
Ask your husband, “How would you like to have Waffles and Spaghetti Sex?” Listen carefully to his first response because our August contest is based on his answer. If he says YES before he asks, “What exactly IS Waffles and Spaghetti Sex?” then you can enter your man in the August contest, and he might win a Waffle House gift card! (Contest details below.) If he wants to know what exactly he is getting into before he says yes, then you can’t enter him in our contest, but he’s still a winner because he gets to have sex with beautiful you!
Explain to him that men are like waffles in that they compartmentalize each part of their lives into its own box, dealing with one problem, feeling, and thought at a time. Women are like spaghetti in that they weave together parts of their lives so that everything touches everything else, dealing with multiple problems, feelings, and thoughts at a time. (This analogy comes from our excellent giveaway book this month, Men are Like Waffles, Women are Like Spaghetti: Understanding and Delighting in Your Differences, by Bill and Pam Farrel.)
These differences show up in the bedroom and sometimes lead to sexual misunderstandings; however, our differences can also make for exciting, meaningful sexual experiences, particularly when we intentionally delight in our differences. Waffles and Spaghetti Sex will help you do this as a couple.
Waffles Sex: Take notes as your husband answers this question: “If you could design your ideal sexual experience with me, where everything was the way you like it sexually, what would it look like?” Here are additional questions you might ask:
1) During the day, what would lead up to us becoming intimate?
2) In which room or location would you like to have sex with me?
3) Is there a time or specific day you would prefer?
4) What would each of us be wearing?
5) What, if anything, would I say to you?
6) What would I do for you before, during, and after sex? What would you do for me?
7) Which sexual activities would we include?
8) At what speed would you like things to move along?
9) Are there any other details that could make this particularly special for you?
Spaghetti Sex: Give your husband a note pad and pen so he can take notes as you answer the same question: “If you could design your ideal sexual experience with me, where everything was the way you like it sexually, what would it look like?”

Next, get your calendars out and together choose one day when you’ll make Waffles Sex happen for him and another day when he will make Spaghetti Sex happen for you. Whether you include maple syrup and meatballs is up to you!
